"Ready for Dark" featuring the NEW Tarte Rainforest After Dark Palette

Foundation & Primers: My Current Foundation Routine
(Click the TAB above for more info.)

Eyes
For this look, I did a lot of bouncing around so I'm just going to type out what I did and put where to make it a little easier.
First, all over the lid and up into the crease I used "Bare to Explore". Then I went into the outer V area with "Make a Mauve" to deepen the crease and outer portion of the lid for a smooth transition for the darker colors. I then took "Don't turn a-brown" and put it sharply into the crease from inner corner to outer corner, kind of like I was doing a cut crease. My POP color for the outer V in a wing shape (like I was doing winged liner) and above the crease I used the "Plum Away with Me" color. In between the darker colors I blended the harsh lines out with a clean fluffy brush. Finally, I used "Up to No Gold" all over the lid but kept it out of the crease.
Highlight Under Brow & Inner Corner: Champagne. For the inner corner and tear duct area I also used a gold eyeliner for a bit of pop. (Loreal Eyeliner in Gold)
Bottom Lid: I smudged my black eyeliner from the waterline and then went over it with "Plum Away with Me"
I'm not sure why it looks so brown in the
pictures. It definitely had more of a dark purple look.

Eyeliners
Upper Lid: Mary Kay Gel Eyeliner in Jet Black
Upper & Lower Waterlines: Jordana 12 Hour Made to Last Eyeliner in Black
My bottom lids are tattooed Black.
Mascara: Jordana Best Last Extreme Volumizing Mascara in Black

"Before Dark" featuring the NEW Tarte Rainforest After Dark Palette

Today I'm using the new Rainforest After Dark Palette by Tarte. This palette gives you 6 eyeshadows, 1 blush (which I believe is exclusive to this palette), 1 Highlighter, and 1 Bronzer (which is Tarte's famous Park Ave Princess!). Three of the eyeshadows are more mauve/purple toned and the other three or more neutral toned and the pigmentation of all of them is absolutely wonderful. They also blend out beautifully. The blush color, Unleashed, is a pretty matte mauve/pink shade and it will look great on any skin tone. Of course, the highlight shade and bronzer are amazing as well. I cannot say enough great things about this palette. It's absolutely gorgeous and perfect for travel. I will have some swatches below for you! Enjoy this first of 3 looks I've put together this week using this palette and as always if you recreate any of these looks-or come up with new ones of your own-remember to hashtag #natslife on your social media so I can check it out!
Have a great day, Gorgeous!!

Outer V: First I used the shade Make A Mauve then I used Plum Away With Me and brought the bottom of the V as if it were the inner portion of a wing (Like when you flick out for winged eyeliner and then you bring it in to the lash line thick to thin, that's what I did here with this shadow).
Then take a clean fluffy brush and blend out any harsh edges

Bottom Lid: Make a Mauve up to the inner third and then I used Champagne again to match the upper lid.

All shadows except one (indicated below) are from the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette
Lid: Hazelnut-concentrate this more on the outer corner and center, leave the inner third clean.
Marzipan-All over lid.
With my finger for a little extra punch after I'd finished the eye look I added a bit of the Milani Bella Rose all over the lid and even up on the crease. I just pat this on with my ring finger.

Foundation & Primers:
Mary Kay Foundation Primer and Mary Kay Eye Primer
Mary Kay TimeWise Matte-Wear Liquid Foundation in Beige 2
Mary Kay Liquid Facial Highlighting Pen in Shade 2
Mary Kay Liquid Illuminater in Shade 1 (discontinued, but there are lots of dupes on the market)
Setting Powder: Mary Kay Translucent Loose Powder

Sadly, the shadows are not true to color in the picture. I will describe each one as best as I can.
This is the bh cosmetics Eyes on the 80's Palette
Eyes
Base: Jordana 12 Hour Made to Last Jumbo Eyeshadow Pen in Eternal White (this is so important when
using vibrant colors. white bases will intensify your colors dramatically.)
Crease: For a soft transition crease color I used a soft Peachy shade ala Peach Smoothie by MUG (#1)
Lid: Outer and Inner third of the lids (leave center blank right now) I started out with Ulta's "Too Blue" which is a bright aqua blue. When I added a little bit of #2 on top of it on the inner corner I really like the effect so I went with it! It's a light beachy aqua color.
On the Center of the lid I used a bright lime green (#3) and really packed it on there.
Outer V: I played around with grays and browns lightly, but then I used the cobalt blue in the bh palette (#4). (Thank you, Nicole Guerierro, for the inpsiration!). As you can see, the color in the picture looks nothing like a cobalt blue. *facepalm* I've got to work on this picture!
Highlight Under Brow & Inner Corner: I didn't number it but I used Bone by Ulta from crease to brow then for the shimmer highlight I used a bit of the shimmer champagne shade just below #4
Bottom Lid: I repeated the pattern of aqua, green, aqua like I did with my upper lid.

Eyeliners
Upper lid: Maybelline Eyestudio Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black (this is last use of this!! It is totally dried out!!)
Upper Waterline: Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeliner in Black
Lower Waterline: Jordana Easy Liner in Blue Devine (kind of a navy, cobalt blue mix). I also brought this out of the waterline and into the inner portion of the eye on the line to create an elongated look.
My bottom lids are tattooed Black.
Mascara: Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara in Black

Brows: Maybelline Brow Definer in Deep Brown with Mary Kay Eyebrow Gel

Cheeks
Bronzer: Mary Kay Bronzing Powder in Light-Medium

Summer Sunset at the Beach

Let's have some fun with color today!! I was inspired by Stephanie of SMLXO on YouTube. I made a few changes, but the heart of the look is the so similar. I call it by Summer Sunset at the Beach!! Enjoy!!

Foundation & Primers:
Mary Kay Foundation Primer and Mary Kay Eye Primer
Mary Kay TimeWise Matte-Wear Liquid Foundation in Beige 2
Mary Kay Concealer in Yellow for trouble and dark spots
Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in Very Fair/Light for brightening

The Colors in the electronic media (picture) are not true to color so I'll describe them a bit here.
#1 is a true bright, matte orange. #2 is a Bright, Neon Pink. #3 is a deep, bright, matte purple #4 is a matte, cobalt blue, #5 is a soft, matte peach (think a light Peach Smoothie by MUG), #6 is a shimmer champagne type color (similar in color to Honey Spice by MK)

Eyes
Base: Jordana 12 Hour Jumbo Eye Shadow Pencil in Eternal White (A white base will make vibrant colors more intense. I used this all over from lid to brow.)
Crease: First I took Mary Kay's Siena which is a soft, warm brown and buffed that all in the crease. Then I blended into that with the orange #1. Then I took the Pink #2 and buffed that into the crease as well but concentrated in more on the outer crease and even brought it slightly into the outer V.
Outer V: See note above
Crease: I packed on the Purple #3.
I then went back and forth blended out any edges and added back any intensity I may have lost in the blending process, then I blended some more. I especially went back and forth with the Pink & Purple.
Inner Corner: For the inner corners of the upper and lower lids I used the cobalt blue # 4. This just added a little extra pop.
Transition Color: To blend the extreme colors on my lid from crease to brow, I used #5 which is the soft, peach color. I did this so it wouldn't be such a stark, abrupt change from bright sunset to shimmering hightlight. I've gotten where I just love to use a color like this to transition my looks in this way.
Highlight Under Brow & Inner Corner: The Shimmer Champagne Color, #6
Bottom Lid: All across, Purple #3, On the outer end over the purple I used the Pink #2, and in the inner third I used the Cobalt Blue #4

Eyeliners
Upper Lid: Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black
Upper Waterline: Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eye liner Pencil in Black
Lower Waterline: Rimmel Scandaleyes yada yada yada Eye liner Pencil in 008 Light Blue
My bottom lids are tattooed Black.
Mascara: Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara in Black

Cheeks
Bronzer: First I used the Mary Kay Bronzing Powder in Light-Medium (my favorite!) and then I lightly dusted not in the hollows of the cheek but just above with Betty Lou Manizer by the Balm
Blush: Milani Luminoso
Highlight: Mary Lou Manizer by the Balm

Lips
Liner: Rimmel Lip Liner in East End Snob
Lipstick: I mixed 2 because I wanted more of a pinky nude. I didn't want my lips to disappear but I also didn't want them to compete with these eyeballs!
First I used Loreal Color Riche Lipstick in 560 Saucy Mauve
Then I used the NYX Butter Lipstick in Lollies

Lipgloss: Mary Kay NouriShine Plus Lipgloss in Au Naturel

Hope you enjoyed this look! Remember if you recreate it to hashtag #natslife on your social media!!
Have a great day, Gorgeous!!
