Makeup for Hot Weather

When you are planning so spend the day out in the hot weather you want to use products that will outlast the humidity and your glistening (aka perspiration). If you hot weather time also involve activity you'll want to use some sort of like glue to make it stick. Ok, so that was a joke, but you know what I'm talking about. In this particular case, I was headed to the NC Zoo in Ashboro for an almost 6 hour trek across a 5 mile stretch of Zoo (which we also back tracked to see things we missed on our first shot through). Here' what I wore and how it lasted throughout the day. Note that my actual Foundation Routine is different for this look.

I started out by putting some Sunscreen made especially for the face by Neutragena. You want to use one made for the face so you will not break out from any extra ingredients found in regular sunscreens which may be too harsh for the face.

Primers: Mary Kay Foundation Primer with SPF 15 and Mary Kay Eye Primer
Foundation: Mary Kay Medium Coverage Foundation in Ivory 204
I used this Foundation because it gives great coverage (don't let the name fool you-it's Full coverage) and it's made specifically for oily skin. It lasts through almost anything. I love this foundation for hot days!
Concealor: Mary Kay Concealer in Ivory
Setting Powder: Revlon Photo Ready Powder in Transluscent. This powder helps to mattify so it's perfect for hot days!

Instead of my usual liquid Illuminator I used the Mary Kay Facial Highlighting Pen because it adds a beautiful highlight to the skin without the extra shimmer. With the extra heat of the day I figured I would "glisten" and would provide my own shimmer. The highlighter does add a little extra coverage as well.

Eyes
Base: Mary Kay Cream Eyeshadow in Beach Blonde (These particular cream eyeshadows dry to a great finish and stay put through anything! They are a great choice for under mineral eyeshadows or alone on hot days!)
Lid: Honey Spice by Mary Kay
Crease: Sienna by Mary Kay
Highlight Under Brow & Inner Corner: Honey Spice by Mary Kay
Bottom Lid: Sienna by Mary Kay

Eyeliners
Upper Lid: & Upper Waterline: Jordana 12 Hour Eye Pencil in Purple Fix
Nothing on the bottom waterline.
My bottom lids are tattooed Black.
Mascara: Jordana Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara in Black (A waterproof mascara is also a great idea on hot days. I don't see seem to have a problem with my mascara running so I figured this would be fine for me.)

Cheeks
Bronzer: #1 Cover Girl Fix Stick Concealor in Deep Brown (For hot days, cream products do the best job of staying put longer. This goes for bronzers and blushes especially!) #2 I set the Cream Blush with Mary Kay Bronzing Powder in Light-Medium
Blush: #1 Cream Blush in Sheer Bliss #2 Milani Baked Blush in Luminouso
Highlight: Mary Lou Manizer at the highpoints of the cheekbones only.

Lips
Liner: Rimmel lip liner in East End Snob
Lipstick: Baby Lips in Purple
Lipgloss: None
(I also recommend carrying a clear lip balm with SPF in your bag.)
After 10 hours of wear!! This is after walking around the
Zoo for 8 hours :-)

Around 11:00am in front of the
Giraffes :-)
